Fiorentino from Terre et Lumière is a natural lime putty paint with a soft, sandy texture that works beautifully on both interior and exterior surfaces. Made entirely from natural ingredients, it’s a great environmentally conscious choice and helps create healthy indoor spaces.

 

It has a matte, slightly grainy finish that gives walls a warm, natural character. The semi-creamy texture applies easily with either a brush or roller, making it very user-friendly whether you’re tackling a heritage project or refreshing a modern home.

Because it’s a true lime paint, Fiorentino allows the building fabric to breathe, so moisture can escape instead of becoming trapped. This helps protect the underlying materials and is especially important for older buildings or any structure made with traditional masonry. Thanks to its naturally high pH (around 12), it also offers inherent resistance to mould and mildew.

 

When you’re done, clean-up couldn’t be simpler — just wash your tools with soap and water.

Composition

  • Aged filtered lime putty – provides a smooth, breathable, long-lasting finish.

  • Calcium carbonate – gives the paint its traditional, soft, chalky appearance.

  • Bentonite clay – a natural clay that boosts workability and moisture retention for a crack-resistant result.

  • Marble powder – finely ground marble for a smooth, silky finish with subtle light reflection.

  • Silica sand – fine sand that creates the characteristic sandy texture.

  • Synthetic resin (2%) – improves adhesion on tricky surfaces while maintaining breathability.

Application advice

Step 1: Apply one coat of Lime Base Paint (Primer).
Step 2: Apply two or three coats of Tinta Chiara Smooth or  Fiorentino Textured Lime Paint as desired.
